pay back the money

It was unfortunate that my wedding was cancelled, months prior to that my mother who works very hard paid a deposit of half of the total that was to be paid for the wedding venue, there were no terms to say that the money will be forfeited. When the wedding was cancelled three months before the date my mum contacted Salim Kazi and told him the situation, all he said was that he cannot give back the deposit but if we have a wedding in future he will hold the deposit for that. Its annoying that after contacting him several times he refused us and we have another wedding he wants us to pay the full amount again. He says overheads are high yet he did tell my cousin that the hall was available the day we cancelled it is obvious he had the hall booked for another wedding... so I feel he did a wrong thing to my mum!
