Shocking service from Safeway Valet Parking

I have previously posted a review about the shocking service I received from this company and the damage suffered because of their ******** behavior. I recently saw this on Facebook. seems like they are just carrying on abusing customer vehicles. "Peace of mind...... Safeway valet parking Durban.... the best and safest way????.....maybe throughout their whole journey with YOUR vehicle....definately NOT peace of mind for the non-suspicious owner of the vehicle.

When I handed over the keys to a representative of Safeway Valet and parking Durban, it was to be driven to the company’s depot, some 20 kilometres away and safely stored there, being returned to me at the harbour on my return from Sinfonia MSC 5 days later

But that’s not quite what happened.

The car was driven for almost 58 km and if you discount the drive to and from the depot, that leaves 28 kms unaccounted for.

And it’s not just the fact that it was driven that’s the problem, it was how it was driven - exceeding the speed limit a number of times.

I know this for two reasons: an odometer reading and a tracking report.

So Safeway valet and Parking not only drove my car without permission, but jeopardised the agreement.

Interestingly, I also knew something was wrong because I'd made sure there was enough fuel for me to get to the harbour and halfway back home, with the trip to and from the depot in between, but when I got back into my car after my 5-day holiday, the fuel gauge was sitting extremely lower than expected.

I contacted Preddy ( ********** ) and explained there is about 28 km unaccounted for, and they need to explain what exactly happened, because obviously it was not just parking.

Having paid R500 for the parking service, only to have my car driven hard and fast for more than 28 unauthorised kilometres, using lots of my fuel, I never want to use the company’s services again, so I decided to warn victims against Safeway Valet and parking.

Moral of the story: Do your checks before choosing a service provider, always make a note of your mileage before and after handing your car over to this company. One year after they caused thousands of rands of damage to my vehicle after apparently "drag racing" it. Needless to say that even though Outsurance has confirmed the payout to Preggy, I have to this date not been compensated for the damage.
