SafariNow.com directed me to a "dump" for accommodation

I searched for a campsite in Port Nolloth (enroute to the Richtersveld) and SafariNow.com advised me to site called Soutpan Safari Camp. I paid the full amount for two night's accommodation (R755). After paying the full amount we received an e-mail with very stern cancellation terms and conditions for cancellation. Upon arrival at Soutpan Safari Camp I realised that this would not suit our needs as the site was situated between an industrial area, a dilapidated suburb and an informal settlement. There were also two huge dogs (for security reasons, I guess) patrolling freely inside the fenced site of which our handicapped daughter was petrified. After explaining our concerns to the owner, Conradie, he became extremely defensive, aggressive and refused to reimburse us. Conradie would not even allow us into the site to inspect it for ourselves. We left it there (as not to get into a further confrontation with this abusive man) to go and find an alternative campsite in MacDougal's Bay. I immediately sent an e-mail to *** on my cell phone , but received no reply. On my return to Cape Town I sent a second e-mail to *** - no response. I then approached "hellopeter" and then only received feedback from SafariNow.com. I was offered a R350 vouched as a sign of "goodwill". Is that fair practice?
