Safarinow refuses refund

My wife booked a weekend away, also paying the extra booking fee for in the event something should come up, she will get a full refund.

We were planning to leave Saturday morning early, Friday night my wife was notified she was in contact with a colleague who tested positive for Covid 19, to add further to the issue, my one year old daughter had a fever spike, she was recovered or so we thought from tonsillitis.

It was clear to us, we could not make the trip, and my wife sent a cancelation. Even with us paying the extra monies on the booking, a lady named Liv from Safari now, point blank refused to allow the refund to happen, my wife even asked if we could postpone the travel date, and het request was bluntly ignored.

My wife was just told, according to their terms and conditions, no refund will happen.

It is shocking customer service and pure ******* from Safarinow. It is clear what type of company they are in acting in this way, it is a disgrace to our tourism industry and clearly shows the companies lack of empathy to sick children and the current pandemic and peoples safety. To them it seems one thing is clear, take customers money and run... No wonder they have recently been in the news for not refunding customers that had issues.

I will never use this platform again, and urge people to use the other many more platforms available, if you have an issue, Safarinow will just take your money

Hi Wesley

When insurance was selected; a link to view what will and will not be covered as refundable was available to the guest to view. Please note the terms, this also specifies what requirements would be asked to qualify for and to claim a refund https://refundable.me/safarinow/
Following a failed refund claim with the insurance as they indicate that the required documentation was not provided as per the link with terms and documentation requirement, SafariNow have contacted the property who as per their cancellation terms inform this would also be non-refundable as it is a cancellation the day before arrival. The property has however agreed to a 50% refund R1417

We await your response to this resolution.

Regards
Yvonne
