Covid19 and Popular Dramas

I write as a concerned citizen in the way the three dramas above are missing a glorious opportunity to spread a serious word about the Covid19 pandemic. Because of their viewership numbers, these are platforms through which the pandemic message can be effectively spread to our people who are taking this disease for granted. This disease is serious, and it is killing! Hats off to Muvhango who at the moment have a quarantine scene. However, we see the two quarantined ladies happy and enjoying themselves without even a mask, playing cards. Are we spreading the right message here?? My thinking was to show us these ladies in serious pain, steaming and taking all sorts of medications to stay afloat, or even bring a character that passes on due to recklessness. Honestly this pandemic is decimating lives and livelihoods and it is my thinking that we are missing this golden opportunity to spread the word. During this second wave we cannot as an economy survive a second wave! It is deadlier, and its effect more far reaching than the first. Generations Legend and Uzalo have no scenes of quarantine at all and have no character/s who has/have the Covid19 at all. We need such scenes to bring back our economy to working. My thinking is everyone should do their bit, especially those privileged with platforms that reach masses of people. Our people need to understand that covid19 is killing, and is affecting everyone. The same may be extended to all other dramas on other channels. It is a concerted effort!
