Theft from luggage / no response to complaint

My wife flew back from Canada, and ended up at KSIA but her bag was still in JNB.

SAA luggage desk arranged for the bag to be brought in on a later flight, and I collected
it the next morning as I had to pass by KSIA en-route to work.

The small padlock that had been on the bag was missing -- and two cellphones &
a small piece of jewelery that was a gift from a friend in Canada to my daughter were
all missing, but the bag was otherwise carefully packed.

Two things: although there is some financial loss, what enrages me is that somewhere
in the luggage handling chain, workers are essentially pilfering trinkets for sport, as none
of the items would be of intrinsic resale value (these were low-end phones, However,
we have giant pain with SIM swaps, etc.) Clearly the securityi is **** if it is worthwhile
for these guys to ***** trinkets -- the risk of being caught must be less-than-minimal.

Second: after phoning the people on the luggage desk at KSIA, they told me to email
customercare@flysaa -- I did, and no response.
