South African airways lies & don't want to refund after last minute cancellation

Please share this post FlySAA does not want to pay me back my refund and **** about doing it after they cancelled my trip involuntarily when I had booked in September to fly from China back to Durban. I booked a flight using an agency called Travelgo in early September for December because I knew my contract with the company I was working for would end then, and my residency visa would expire soon there after.

FlySAA Hong Kong Cancelled my flight last minute, and my agency app**** for a refund and sent a note to make the application process to go faster because of my visa expiring Soon. When I called FlySAA Hong Kong ticketing, they said kept making excuses and telling me my agency should apply and do things, when they already had. The ticketing agent then proceeded to LIE about my refund, saying that I am already refunded because he “spoke to finance” and that is what they said. He then proceeded to not give me his name or any email address for the ticketing or financial office.

I had explained why I needed my refund within 2 weeks, but their response was to lie. Is this what SAA stands for? LIES! Nicabanga ukuthi sizilima. You cancel flights last minute and don’t make plans for us to be rebooked to other airlines, then you lie about our money. Such disrespect. I am appalled and disgusted by this service. FlySAA This whole issue is not my fault but here I am seemingly getting the short end of the stick.

Chinese apps like WeChat doe not work in China, and I cannot do international transfers using the bank of China Mobile App because they restrict foreigners from having access to certain applications here. I can’t get my refund when I am back home, and need to get it whilst I am still in China before my Visa expires.

I have emailed the refund department of SAA and they have not responded. I have also emailed their customer service, and they have not responded. My family has also tried to contact them, and they stopped responding to emails.
