SAA's poor customer service

Terrible experience with SAA. The assistant took about an hour struggling to check me in at OR Tambo back in 2018 till my flight left. They said they'll place me in the following day's flight. Never did, had to pay for another ticket. Upon my return, they promised to investigate. Even today, I have never received an answer. R19 000 down the drain.
