SAA/VOYAGER the most expensive air tickets!

I received an offer from SAA /Voyager for a free companion ticket as I had accumulated 129000 miles.<br> First they said the flights were fully booked for June 2016. After consulting with a manager I came to the conclusion that they don't fly to Brisbane AT ALL. They only go as far as Perth.From 9am yesterday morning until 12.30 pm I manage to get the two passengers names and dates right.<br> I waited for the email to confirm the reservation and nothing came through.<br> This morning at 8.05 I phoned again asking for my reservations and came to the conclusion that they had the email address wrong. Eventually I received the details, the names of passengers were wrong, the flight dates were wrong . I had to phone another number to claim my companion ticket and I was told that I would have to pay the airport Taxes. Fair enough , how much are the taxes? I asked. No they can't tell me I have to phone the first number and pay for my ticket first and then phone back and pay for my taxes on the companion ticket. Reluctantly I did so. Flying with SAA two air tickets plus VOYAGER miles R35 723.44<br> flying with QANTAS R28 994.00. WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF ACCUMULATING VOYAGER MILES ???
