SAA Voyager awards reduced to a mere ****
Previously, you could book a flight through voyager and then have the option to use available miles, and then pay a portion of the flight- usually the taxes. Now, you first have to change a ceratin amount of miles for a voucher. Then on the T&C's you are told that K-Keeper Awards are subject to K/class seat availability. Fair - but where on the website when you book can you actually see what these K/class seats are and when they are available? And how to actually use your voucher? When you finally go via the call centre (because you do not get any response to your emails), you will find out that the only available such K/class seats are so randomly and seldom allocated, that using the voucher is practically impossible, even if you want to book 6 months in advance. And there is also no way you can change or undo your voucher, so you basically loose out on those awards anyway. It would seem the entire Voyager-Voucher system as it is now is highly a misleading marketing strategy/****, trying to not reward anybody but just sell seats. Incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Well, you have just lost a frequent flyer - I'd rather use other airlines that are much more transparent and honest with their rewards schemes.
