SAA Unfair Business Practice & Lack Of Professionalism
SAA cancelled our prepaid flights. After failure to speak to a human telephonically, I went to the King Shaka Airport to speak to a human. The human's refused to help me, because I'd booked my flights online. I went to SAFAir, and was told to go to SAA. I went to SAA and was told to go to SAAirlink. SAAirlink then told me to go back to SAA. When I demanded help, I was told to go onto a certain website to apply for my refund. I checked the website link in front of the human who gave it to me, and it was an invalid website, in that it didn't exist. So I demanded help again. I spoke to a human telephonically, who said I could apply for a refund, but that I'd have penalties deducted for cancelling my tickets. When I confirmed I wasn't cancelling them myself, but that SAA had cancelled them, I was told...it's our policy to deduct penalties for cancellations. When I asked how much I'd be deducted, I was told by the human that they didn't know how much they would debit me for their cancellation. When I asked how long I would wait for a refund, I was told by the human it would take up to 6 months!! This is totally and utterly unfair business practice, and the lack of professionalism relates to the total lack of telephonic support, the lack of valid email links, the lack of legitimate websites to request a full refund, and the lack of the humans at the airport to help in any manner whatsoever. I'm disgusted.
