SAA Overbooking

<p>Why does SAA sell more tickets than the available seats on their flights?</p> <p> </p> <p>My husband was more than an hour early for his flight on a Friday evening, just to be advised that the flight is overbooked and he needs to wait another hour to board the next flight. No explanation given, no compensation offered, just "sorry, we cannot comment".</p> <p> </p> <p>How is it acceptable to sell more seats than what is available?</p>
