SAA over-booking flights

If you fly SAA, be warned you risk being put on standby for the next available flight.<br> <br> For BOTH my flights to JHB on Monday, and back on Wednesday, I was told SAA had over-booked and I was put on standby and forced to wait until the next available flight.<br> <br> Was told this is the strategy of the marketing department.
