SAA late flight cancellations

Bloemfontein flights cancelled without warning.

We had confirmed booking for my daughter from ORT to Bloem last night 15/4/2018 flight SA1023 18:00 Only on check in, were we notified of cancellation because flight would be late in Bloem and their operation hours are only till 20:00. An over night accommodation and rescheduled ticket for the next morning after 06:00 were offered... wow but that did not solve our problem.. My daughter had another scheduled bus to catch the next morning to a hospital where she work as a medical student in Postmasburg 07:00.

The result was that we had to arrange on a Sunday night for a private shuttle service to transport her by car to Bloemfontein. Putting her and the driver at risk for such a late night trip on a notorious Bloemfontein road. The driver's over night accommodation had to be arranged.

This seems to be a known SAA thing for cancelling Bloemfontein flights, many other Bloemfontein commuters left high and dry by SAA recommend never to use SAA if you are serious about getting to your destination on time I don't know if the flight cancellation will be reimbursed or the road trip expenses covered as all this was done by a very professional and helpful travel agency who took it on themselves to get her in Bloem.
