SAA flight cancelled with no notification

I arrived at King Shaka airport at 10:50am for my 12pm SAA flight to East London (SA 1305). I walked through the departures entrance and noticed that my flight had been cancelled. The first thing I did was check my phone to see whether I had received an SMS or email notification, but there was nothing. Even now there has been no mobile communication of the cancellation. At the check in counter I found that my flight had been moved to 5pm. Since I had taken an Uber taxi to the airport I had no way of getting back home and I have no family in Durban to help me out. I was told by the gentleman at the counter to speak to the SAA Team Leader, I asked her if she could please organise that I can go to an airport lounge or at the very least provide me with WIFI. All she had to offer was a R75 lunch meal voucher (what sort of meal can you get for R75 these days).

I am very disappointed in SAA, firstly it is a VERY expensive flight for me to go home to East London (R1672). I can tell you now that if there was a cheaper airline that flew from Durban to East London I would definitely have chosen it. For the amount you pay, one would expect that SAA would take care of their passengers.
