SAA fails to honour ticket prices

Hi,

I also booked the tickets for Abu Dhabi which were showing less than R900. I paid and even got my tickets with the ref no: Z90SHH. Now SAA sends an email saying that the price was an error, and they are cancelling these tickets.

According to the CPA, SAA would have to honour the prices advertised or in fact give those very tickets free of charge. The reason is, how do we determine that if it really was an error, or SAA was giving them on special. To make matters worst, your own call center verified that this indeed was a special. Having specials like these is not unusual, since I flew to Cape Town a few years back for only R99. In fact, In June last year, a friend flew from Cape Town to Johannesburg for only R1. Yes, one Rand only!!

To reverse the situation, say the error was on my part, and I booked wrong dates. Would SAA accept my unilateral cancellation without a fee??

They mention that they have to secure your stakeholders. Do they not have a greater duty to first secure their customers? They could have easily secured both by leaving these tickets and not taking out another special.

In conclusion, is my ticket not a legal document?

I trust that SAA will reinstate
