SAA dishonest marketing Voyager Awards Programme
Having been a loyal customer for 20+ years I have accumulated many air miles. I looked on the SAA Frequent Flyer site (SAA Voyager) and saw that I can apply for Star Alliance awards for 15,700 for return flights anywhere in Southern Africa. I took 5 awards with a plan to use them either to fly to Durban or Bulawayo (where I regularly go) only to be told AFTERWARDS that I can only fly on a Star Alliance partner airline and not SAA ... guess what, there are no Star Alliance partners servicing Southern Africa. This is simply dishonest and wrongful advertising and should be treated just like any other complaint of this sort. How can SAA offer something that's impossible to provide? ABSURD. I asked for my miles to be reinstated and the answer was (of course) NO!!!! Then after weeks of waiting for a response the miles did in fact expire now SAA Voyager thinks the problem has gone away just because they think time has ****ed off this problem. WRONG. After HelloPeter I'll go the ASA and then Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) ... this will not go away.
