I arrived on Saturday the 8th on SA091, a flight from Benin, could not find my bag and went to report to missing bag services desk, where a gentleman confirmed that my bag was still in Contonou.

The service staff took my details, handed over a reference number and pleasurely told me to await for a phone call from SAA once the bag has been found. I had to ask for details such as timelines, normal processes etc ofwhich only he explained and gave an estimate of the next Monday as then only will there be an SAA flight service from Contonou.

I did not receive any status feedback till Tuesday only after calling the service desk and was told that the bag has not been located, I patiently waited and luckily received a missed call this Thursday the 8th of June with a voicemail that my luggage has been found and ready for delivery, I should call to arrange the delivery on a given number ********** 733 which is not been answered till today, I then resorted to call the missing baggage service desk and was directed to the same number as they are the ones dealing with the deliveries, I told them my plight of not being able to get through and was told it is the only way I should keep trying.

Honestly a same organization that has kept me apart from my luggage for 6 days still can not assist me with just a delivery of the luggage due to a confirmation of delivery when my address is on file and I was specific that the delivery times are at anytime.

This comes a 2 weeks after I had a pilferage from my bag on my return from Nairobi which I only discovered when I was home then traveled to Cape Town the next morning before the baggage office was open came back 8days later to be told my claim can not be processed after 1 week has lapsed a rule new to me and not generally noted anywhere in SAA travel documents.

i am a frequent flier on this beloved airline and can not help but see the quickly lowering of standards and appealing client services.

Regards,

Ignatius
