PATHETIC SERVICE

Date: 15 April 2015 Ticket no *** Flight no: SA 278<br> My husband was supposed to be on the above flight however when he got to the gate they told him that the door was closed and he was one minute late. (Seriously) He got to the boarding gate at 8H45 his flight was set to depart at 9h30am. He arrived at the airport at 8h00 he checked in booked his luggage in and went through to immigration and when he went to the boarding gate they refused to allow him on the flight saying he was one minute late. Please explain how it is possible to do all of the above get your boarding pass and not be allowed to board the plane? They expected us to rebook the ticket and pay a penalty of R2640 when there was no error on our side this is unreasonable. My husband rebooked his flight for the same time on the 16th April 2015 and paid the penalty and he was at the boarding gate at 7h30 and the window only opened at 9 so how this is possible that the previous day he was there at 8h 45 he was too late? This was a very big inconvenience to my husband and I and the cost excluding the penalty from running up and down to the airport was total 6 times from Laudium to Or Tambo they can calculate.
