Missing luggage for over 2months
My mother ( a 65years old) flew SAA airline on the Dec 10th 2017 from Nigeria to South Africa. In preparation for the Christmas holidays she had excitedly bought gifts for her grandchildren and the rest of the family. Her stop over was first in Johannesburg where she arrived checked in her bags for Durban ( her final destination). On arrival, she received a shock when one of her checked in bags was missing. Guess which bag? The one containing all the Christmas gifts and her designer bag and shoes! Clearly there is a syndicate involving customes and SAA in *****ing passenger goods! To make matters worse, we submittex the police report, got a signed off list of items in the missing bag by a commissioner of oath, we scanned all her relevant documents and sent to the email address given. It was a rude shock when after sending these, we got an email notification that the SAA baggage claims box was FULL. In all of this time, not once did my mum receive an call or email apologising for the inconvenience or embrassment of not been able to give your family Christmas presents or your missing personal effects. After several calls we were given another email address (Baggage Services) to forward our email to . Yet we only got an automated response to acknowledge the email. This is totally unacceptable 2 months after this bag went missing and we are yet to get compensation for the inconvenience and emotional stress of missing personal effects. In the first place the baggage should not have gone missing. This is clear theft. What happended yo the security cameras? This process should be seamless. What happended to engaging and compensating customer promptly? My family will never fly SAA again if there are other airlines to the same route. Very poor service and zero integrity in their processes. THERE IS zero trust in the integrity of the people work in transfer passengers luggage and it's shameful the way this has been handled!
