MISSED FLIGHT DUE TO SECURITY AND CUSTOMS. WRONGFULLY ADVISED TO JUMP ON NEXT FLIGHT

Hi, On the 29th of January 2018, I was meant to fly out from OR tambo JHB to Mauritius on a family vacation. 4 travellers. My wife and I, our 9 month baby and a her mum who is a senior citizen, We are from Richards Bay KZN. We drove to King Shaka and flew to OR tambo. We arrived at OR Tambo 3.5 hours before our flight to Mauritius. Approximately 60 minutes before the flight we made our way to the boarding gate. We were first stopped by security to remove the baby food from our hand luggage and thereafter that is when the nightmare started. Customs computers went offline. We spent approximately an hour in the line and to get manually write our all our travel plans, passports names etc for each traveller. Eventually we wer let through to board the plane. I grabbed my son and ran to the boarding gate whilst my wife and her mum staggered behind. I got to the gate 10minutes before it could depart. When I got there the gate was still physically opened. However the SAA hostess refused to let us through. I explained to her my situation and further begged her to let us through. She advised that she had already given the instruction to offload my baggage and based on that we cannot enter. I didn't care about the luggage. I could of figured that later. She closed doors behind her and advised that there is nothing to worry about and that SAA will put us on the next flight at No Additional cost. Even after begging some more with my family she refused and walked away. I left the baby and mum in law at the at gate and rushed over to the SAA inter connecting counter where an arrogant lady laughed at me and said there's no way SAA will pay for me missing the flight. My wife and I had try and get out asap to the main sales counters, and even though we never left the airport. We had to follow all the procedures of entering the country. We finally got to the counter and we told the same story that we must rebook and the next flight is the next day. I explained my story that I have a baby and pensioner sitting at the terminal gate and that we are not from Jhb. Nobody helped out. They advised of I want to fly the next day it will cost me approximately R11 000. I PAID 15500 in total for my return trip and now I had to fork out another 11k. I proceeded to air Mauritius who advised that the have a flight in an hour. At the same time the manager from SAA advised that they will arrange the flight through air Mauritius but I have a risk of flying without my luggage as they cannot locate my luggage. SAA charger me R9300 to fly with air Mauritius. No compensation at all. I ran around the airport to try and locate my bags. Air mauritius advised that if I do not check in my luggage at a certain time, I would have to leave without it. I finally got my luggage 3 minutes before the check in closed. Running across the airport with 5 huge bags I made it in time. This was my horrible experience with SAA. I believe that i should be refunded for the additional funds charged or credited with flight vouchers. I have flown multiple times local and international with SAA.
