LOST OR ****** BAGGAGE AND SHOCKINGLY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS

<p>I landed in South Africa yesterday the 20th September 2016 at 7 am on a connecting flight from London Heathrow.</p> <p>Of the 3 bags that I had (which I all checked in at the same time), the most important one was missing at the carousel. I immediately went to enquire at baggage claims. I was greeted by unfriendly and impatient service when i got tothe queue for over 15 minutes waiting for another passenger to finish -she was on the same flight tand had the same had the same issue - missing bag. When i finally spoke to someone (Mhlengiwe) he promised that he would personally call me by 1pm the same day and my bag would later be sent on the next flight from London Heathrow.</p> <p>More than 7 phonecalls later i have heard nothing satisfactory from the baggage claims contact center whose number Mhlengiwe gave me. The call center really just do not seem to care and they are making no effort to hide it. Noone knows where the bag is, they cant trace it, I should call after 2 hours -its a different story all the time.</p> <p>Trust the airline to bring to a crushing end what should have been a great holiday. Despite numerous attempts to explain the importance of the contents of that bag, noones on the call center has given me any solid repsonse. On my last call, I have now been advised to call air Canada myself -the airline from which i connected. If i cant trust SAA to trace my luggage between them and fellow airlines that they are operationg for what is the point of paying so much money to use SAA's servics only to be told to go and trace the bag myself. The tone of their voices is its just another day at work - they really are not emapthetic and they just do not care.</p> <p>I am highly disappointed in South African Airways being a so called reputable airline but more than anything I am really really stressed and frustred as i need my bag with all its contents.</p> <p>If i can help it i ma never flying with them again as the horror stories of lost or ****** luggage with them have now become a reality for me too.</p>
