I commend SAA for having the Voyager Blitz super sales at which one can redeem miles at a very low rate. However, the taxes and other costs are so high it negates the whole purpose of the sale. Why would I want to redeem my miles and then pay taxes and other costs at $20 less than the normal price. It never used to be like that. one would redeem the miles and pay the normal tax rate you would pay for a normal ticket. So if the tax on a normal ticket is $50, then that is the price you would pay after redeeming the miles on the voyager blitz sale. But now you pay tax of $350 when the normal ticket, tax inclusive is $375.
