Subject: Deep Disappointment and Concern Regarding Recent SAA Flights Dear South African Airways Customer Service, I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration following my National Sales Manager travel experiences on your airline. My daughter was on flight SA52 from Ghana to Johannesburg, and what she endured is nothing short of disgraceful. The photos of the food served were shocking—it's absolutely unacceptable to offer such poor-quality meals to passengers in any class. It was an insult to everyone on board. We as a group has now stopped all bookings with SAA at our travel agency.
To make matters worse, the cabin reeked of human urine, creating an unbearable environment. The level of hygiene was appalling and absolutely unacceptable for a national carrier. Adding insult to injury was the unprofessional behavior of your staff; they provided the most disappointing service she have ever encountered. It is no wonder people question why we do not support our national airline when this is the standard you uphold.
Continuing this troubling trend, the flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town, SA319, was just as miserable. The cabin smelled strongly of vomit, which is both disgusting and unacceptable. It appears that this may be tolerated only because government officials or certain business travelers use these flights, but ordinary tourists and businesspeople deserve far better.
I urge you to take these concerns seriously. Your unclean cabins and unprofessional staff are driving loyal customers away. People are already boycotting SAA flights, and honestly, they have every reason to do so. Unless significant improvements are made in hygiene standards, food quality, and staff professionalism, you will continue to lose support.
SAA should strive to be a national pride, but instead, it is becoming a national embarrassment. Please use this feedback to make the necessary changes to regain the trust and support of your customers. Sincerely, Cindy Smith.
