Incorrect Bag Fee Charged - Rude phone consultants
I travelled from Washington DC to Johannesburg with SAA on March 31st. The SAA ticket included a first flight to New York with JetBlue, and second flight from New York to Johannesburg with SAA.
I had 3 extra bags over and above the 2 free bags of 50 lbs each. I called SAA 7 times before flying to confirm the baggage fee and was told on EVERY call that the fee is \$200 for up to 3 bags\". I called JetBlue before my flight who stated they will honor SAA baggage policy and charge me whatever SAA would charge.
At the JetBlue counter at Washington DC airport, they charged me $250 PER BAG. I questioned them, they said it's not their problem and the supervisor,Eddie Fernandez, told me I'm \"not paying JetBlue I'm paying SAA so I must take it up with SAA\". I paid $750 for 3 additional bags instead of $200 as stated in the online SAA baggage policy and by EVERY SAA phone consultant I spoke to.
At the boarding gate in New York, the SAA personnel checked my baggage receipt and stated I was overcharged and MUST request a refund from JetBlue. I called JetBlue who said it's SAA's fault. I called SAA who said it's JetBlue's problem as I paid them. Fingers are pointed at each other with no resolution!"
