Unfortunately due to Lufthansa not being able to accommodate us, we chose to fly with SAA. It jargogels me that every time we do fly SAA there are always problems which is sad being it our national carrier. We invited friends to join us in Europe and being very excited we started with a dampener due to the exact problems one can expect from SAA. The planes' temperature was extremely hot due to cabin air cons not working correctly. The entertainment system did not work throughout the entire flight. The crew tried to rectify the problem, but were not successful. With regards to the food, 3 out of the 4 of us got extremely sick throwing up numerous times only to hear later there were a lot more people in the same situation from the chicken dish served. Also, our new bag we just purchased for this trip was cracked which we only noticed on arrival after unwrapping it from the plastic. The toilets were in a poor state and not being cleaned often enough as the floors and toilet seats were full of urine. I do not often complain, but I think we should be proud of our country and carrier. SAA should learn from carriers like Emirates Etihad and Lufthansa.
