How SAA treats mothers with ill children.

I booked a ticket for my wife and daughter flying back home on South African Airways (SAA) and my daughter have not been feeling well and so at the check in counter we are asked "is that little girl sick"? So we explained to the lady at counter 61 (approximately 19:00 on Sunday 4 September 2016) that she has a bit of an upset tummy but she had a suppository and medication and a healthcare practitioner declared her fit to fly).

There were no courtesy in the response; just a very blunt "we will not allow that girl on the aircraft without an official doctor's note". So am I complaining about the procedure, not at all, I think it’s good that airlines take care not to let anybody feeling sick on the aircraft for their own interest. I am complaining about the way we were treated and spoken to in public, complete lack of courtesy and respect and no feeling or consideration for a 9 year old girl who has feelings and at no stage were any sort of assistance offered to make her feel comfortable.

So eventually the supervisor Nthunthung Kotelo, comes out and says we need to do an avid avid at the police station if we want to be on the flight. So I had to leave my wife and little girl there sitting on the floor for 20minutes at the check in counters and go do the avid avid, and not once one of the SAA personel asked if they could help or whether they can assist to make my little girl more comfortable.

So I come back an hand over the avidavid and they book my wife and my 9 year old daughter who is already not feeling well in at completely different seats in the aircraft!!! My wife at seat 14E and my daughter at seat 27C... are you kidding me!!!?????

We were at the check in counters 2 hours before departure... we spent over an hour at those counters and never had such blunt cold treatment.

Really SAA is this how you train your staff???

Was the worst experience and service I have ever experienced.

So disappointed.
