Denied Boarding Pass on SAA

I was booked (Booking Ref 76PHOP) to board flight SA 0542 from Durban to Johannesburg (OR Tambo) at 9.50am on Sunday, 4th January 2015.<br> I was in the check-in line since 9am. The line was moving too slowly. Passengers were restless and noisy. I was attended to at 9.20am. I was informed there that I could not get on the flight because SAA already called for outstanding passengers and I did not hear the announcement. The manager (Dharmesh Verma) was called to speak to me. He argued that I was too late and remarked the flight was full- there were no seats available. However, the boarding gates only close 15 mins before take off time. I do not believe I was at fault if I and few other passengers having the same problem did not hear the announcement for us to join another line. Nevertheless, even if I was late and my seat was sold to a standby passenger, the manager made no further efforts to assist me. He insisted that the only solution was to buy another air ticket for a further R1400. I was a student stranded at the airport and he failed to see this. I opened a case with ACSA and was told I would have a response from SAA in 21 working days. This time period has now lapsed.
