Delays, cancelled flights, lost baggage and then no response from customer service

I have had a recent terrible experience on SAA, flying from Cape Town to London via Joburg, return. Whilst the staff were helpful, there are clearly major organisational issues with SAA.

The outward journey from Cape town to joburg was delayed, which meant I almost missed my connecting flight to London. As I was travelling with my baby this caused great distress. As we got off the flight, land crew were waiting to meet us and made us wait to one side whilst the rest of the plane got on the buses and went to the terminal. Eventually we got on the last bua. I assumed she was making us wait as perhaps she was putting us on a special bus and taking us directly to the international terminal to ensure we made our flights. This wasn't the case, we just went the normal route, and by making us wait she made us 15 minutes later. I can't understand why you would do this with a group of people who are already late for their flight??!!

Once on the flight from Joburg to london, my tv screen was broken (the arm wouldn't stand upright) so I could watch any TV, and then my bag was lost, which I only received a day and a half later. This meant I had to go out and buy extra baby clothes and also items for myself.

On the return flight on 2 August SA235 (also flying with my baby), my flight was cancelled and I spent a night at Heathrow, and then was put on a day flight the next morning. I specifically wanted a night flight as 10.5hrs on a plane with an active 1 year old is hard work. Unbelievably, my TV was ALSO broken on this flight, and although they tried to reset it 3 times it was frozen and I couldn't watch anything. Arriving in Joburg, there were no flights to cape town so once again I had to stay in a hotel, and flew the following morning to Cape Town. This last flight was delayed 20 minutes, so I finally landed in Cape Town more than 24 hours after I was supposed to. I missed an important work meeting which caused problems with my business partner.

I am very upset about the experience from start to finish and expect full compensation for the disruptions, delays and inconvenience. I have now emailed SAA FOUR TIMES, the first time being 10 August and have had absolutely no response. Seriously unimpressed. I was told I was owed compensation for the cancelled flight, and they have clearly decided that by ignoring customers they then don't have to pay it.
