Costing me $250 and a day's work
South African Airways didn't have signs up for their check-in counter, blame the airport for this, charge me 4000 rand to rebook my flight for the next day (cost me vacation day), and then delay that same flight by 6 hours! It took 20min for me to get a new ticket. They knew the plane was having issues. They should have allowed my bags on the plane and allowed me to catch the flight. These ************ instead force me to buy a new ticket and (worse) look last minute for a hotel and a rental car for the extra day/night, which took hours as the hotels and rental cars were booked up. The ticket counter personnel gave me a scolding for not arriving 2-3 hours in advance when the online boarding pass clearly says bag drop closes an hour before the flight. I actually arrived the right time but waited 2min in SAA's line at the counter, even more reason they should have let me board. The next day, I arrived at my usual time (5min before bag drop = 65min before flight). They still rushed me. I drop my bags, get through security, buy coffee and a sandwich, chat up another passenger and STILL wait 30min with other passengers. SAA is q complete ripoff! Avoid them whenever possible
