Confusion and Lost Luggage on SAA Flight SA0333

My frail, invalid 75-year-old mother, was on Flight SA0333 on Saturday 8th October. A gentleman in Assisted Passenger services came to take her through check in at 11:15. He flight was scheduled to leave at 12:00 from OR Tambo to Cape Town. Apparently, there were numerous delays and instead of landing in Cape Town at 14:00; she arrived around 17:00. Got to her house just before 6. She says they were sitting in the aircraft through all those delays. I later saw sms's SAA had sent me apologising about delays. There was no further notification or apology after the one that said the flight would leave at 13:30. Apparently that scheduled delayed departure was also moved. She is diabetic, with a bit of dementia, easily intimidated and confused by unfami**** spaces. I'm not sure if she was brave enough to ask for her walking stick from the luggage rack, ask fellow passengers to allow her to move out of her window seat so she could walk to the toilet during those hours. On top of it all, she got to Cape Town without her checked-in luggage. Today is the second day, still without her luggage and NO WORD from SAA. This is totally unacceptable and shoddy deplorable service at its best. Especially for the already vulnerable elderly. No explanation. No apology that her clothes, toiletries and medication is where only SAA knows. They ask for File References, she says the Passenger Assistance people did not give her anything. They took her ticket stud to report her missing luggage. She is aged and has NO clue how the SAA system works. Now what happens? How disappointing. What a let down SAA......
Passenger Name: Mrs Nandipha Patricia Qinga. SA0333 12:00 From JHB to CPT on Saturday 8 Oct 2016

Very angry, disappointed and let down supporter & client,
