Changing voyager rules to render miles useless

Been a loyal SAA customer for many years, mainly to keep, accumulate and use voyager miles. Built up a good balance and tried to redeem this week. Was told the rules changed on 1 Feb with no public notification to massively increase miles needed per flight and decrease (further) available seats per flight. As the SAA agent confirmed - basically render accumulated miles unuseable. A disgrace.
