Changed luggage allowance midway thru an international itinerary

<p>Returning from USA Today, SAA required us to check our hand luggage on the last leg, despite leaving the fact that we had a single booking thru to Cape Town. This despite the fact that we explained the luggage had not been packed for checking, was unsecured, and contained breakable glass items. Totally unreasonable. How is one supposed to repack one's bags mid-trip? Will not be using them for our next overseas flights.</p>
