Cancelled SAA flights

Long story short. My flight from OR Tambo to JFK was cancelled on Thursday (4th of January), everyone on that flight was told they would be put on standby for the next available flight out...the next available flight is Tuesday (9th). I somehow managed to get on Saturday's (6th) flight only for that flight to be cancelled as well. Now SAA has two flights that were cancelled with nearly 550 people needing to get to the US...and SAA is telling everyone they have to fly standby?! How ludicrous is that? I have spent nearly 9 hours a day at the airport, since Thursday, trying to get a straight answer from SAA. I have called every number possible and yet everyone I speak to, sends me to someone else. I can't do that - speak to that person. I can't re-book you - you need to call that number or speak to that person. I could probably draw you a map of the airport if have walked it that much and spent that much time there. Give me an answer and get me on a plane and stop passing the buck!!
