Bad service at SAA

Flight delay one hour? At no stage communicated, so wait three hours then as about to board plane informed I may not have a small bag and that it must go into hold??? Why not inform on check in? Why not inform when sitting waiting? A do not care attitude is well prevalent, fly often and everything is going down rapidly
