Bad service and non apologetic staff

I recently flew with SAA on a domestic flight for business purposes. I fly often but have not been on a SAA flight in many years, so was curios to see how their service levels have changed. On this occassion I was sitting at the window, exhausted after a long work week and in addition, being pregnant and in pain from all the sitting and walking. I ended up surrounded by a family with the children behind me and the parents next to me. The sick parents kept coughing, sneezing, switching seats and trying to make friends (very loudly) with other passengers. In addition the rowdy children behind me kept kicking my chair. All of this I overlooked. When the flight attendants arrived they served drinks to the family (parents and kids) and then rushed off. I assumed they ran out of something and were coming back. They never did, and seemed to have forgotten to serve me amongst all the family commotion. After a while I was getting extremely thirsty and called for assistance. A different flight attendant arrived looking extremely annoyed, and when I told her I was not served a drink, she proceeded to defend it by saying I must have been sleeping. I told her I wasnt sleeping as I saw the other family being served which means my eyes were open. She didnt apologise but instead gave me attitude and insisted again that I must have been sleeping. This was highly annoying as they had made a mistake but instead of acknowledging the mistake tries to blame me for it. Had she apologised I wouldn't be writing this post. SAA can learn alot about customer service from the low cost carriers and thats the reason why I usually fly with them. More expensive does not necessarily mean better service, and hence I will not be flying with SAA again.
