Airllink abandons its passengers

Beware - Airlink are happy to leave you to your own devices if they run late and you miss your connection - on another Airlink flight. On August 2 Airlink ran late out of Walvis Bay due to the weather they claimed - although the sun had been shining and there was no wind for two hours before the aircraft landed. All the weather sites I consulted said the fog would clear so there was little excuse for the plane to leave Johannesburg late on the incoming flight. Despite my having warned them in Walvis Bay and again on the plane that I would struggle to make the connection they made no alternative plans. When I got to Johannesburg Port Elizabeth was boarding while we were still puttering around on the runway. Having missed my flight I found that Airlink was already closed for business. Luckily I found one person left at the check in counter and after she saw she could not get rid of me she took me to the office upstairs. There they told me that they would not help with a replacement flight or with accommodation - it was my problem. Absolutely no concern for a customer who is now stranded.
