SAA Museum

My holiday was a staycation with two young grandsons (8 & 6) visiting me in Johannesburg where I stay in an upstairs apartment. Other than taking them to see Christmas lights, I had to search for things to do that don’t cost too much money and was delighted to find these gems.

A friendly guided tour leader, Conrad took my boys through a 747. Both boys had never flown before, so he explained and showed them all the elementary items such as putting on/releasing the seat belts, the meal serving tray, toilets etc. So this was really educational for them.

Being boys they loved the smaller aircraft and the home-build Pietenpol Air Camper blew them away!

Both boys simply loved it and I was grateful to be able to give them the opportunity to learn so much and experience all of the aircraft so close-up and personal.

A visit to the museum is a must and something to delight both old and young.
