SAWS PLEASE STEP UP WEATHER FORECAST ACCURACY?

I lived abroad for more than 2 decades where weather forecast accuracy was considered important and sometimes crucial to sustain life and livelihoods. However, the inaccuracy and ‘mispredictions’ of the SA Weather Service is laughable! If you are labeled SA Weather Service #SAWS #SA Weather surely you are aware you REPRESENT THE COUNTRY AND SOUTH AFRICA! When I arrived here after 2 decades, the general comments on the SAWS (SA Weather Service) from a LARGE cross section of citizens, was to ‘ignore the SA Weather Service’ and get a ‘more accurate indication of the current and future weather prediction by sticking your head out the window in the morning’ ….. Although laugh- worthy and comical, not what one expects at the southern tip of the African Continent! The newly appointed minister of ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS #weather #environmental #minister hopefully would attend to this ‘comical’ institution called the SAWS! The consistent ‘mis- information’ and incorrect forecast is ENDANGERING THE CITIZENS OF SOUTH AFRICA THE DAMAGING WINDS PREDICTED FOR THIS JULY STORM APPEARS TO BE ADJUSTING ALMOST AS WE GO ALONG… Someone sitting with his / her head out the window and advising as the weather approaches …..?
