Worst Service EVER from SA Post Office
I ordered an item from an overseas website and paid for the registered option which provides a tracking no. My parcel RY ********** 45SG was delivered with no issues a week later to Johannesburg International mail center where it seemingly disappeared into a black hole. It is now 3 weeks later and the item has still not been scanned by them providing me with a local tracking no - the telephone there just rings and rings until it cuts out 5/6/7 times in a row and if you are lucky enough to get someone actually answer they just say there is a backlog and they have no idea when it will be scanned.
I would just like to say that until the item is scanned and SAPO acknowledges receipt of it, it can be "lost" and there is no proof that it was ever in their possession, which leaves the door wide open for someone to go shopping in the un-scanned items lying there for weeks and weeks and they will just shrug it off as usual. Surely using a hand held scanner to scan a load of parcels AS THEY ARRIVE can NOT be that difficult!!
I think this is the worst customer service department I have ever dealt with in my life as their e-mail in answer to my complaint is simply "your item has not been scanned" REALLY!!
