We won't deliver, whatever the cost
I ordered two car LED lights from an American company who ships from Singapore - you can't get the same quality in the same format locally - using my post office box I've had for more than 40 years. Two months later I moved outside the city, opened a new box nearby, cancelled my old box, and paid a few hundred bucks for them forwarding any mail received at the old box to the new box. A week or two later I received a SMS from the post office that a package had arrived, and apparently my address is no longer valid. I was requested in this SMS to visit their website and give them my new address. Which I did, but then this website of them also demanded some extra money to handle the forwarding of the package. When I tried to pay the requested amount, it first refused to accept my ABSA debit card, then refused to accept my ABSA credit card, but at last accepted my Capitec card - at least it went through the motions of payment and seemed to accept it So I awaited the parcel to arrive, which up to now, again almost two months later, has not yet happened. When searching through my Capitec bank account I could not find a reference to the SA Post Office, so apparently it did not accept that payment from a legally operating South African bank either. Now I guess they've sent it back to Singapore, which would have cost them much more than picking up the phone and talking to me. Or they could have forwarded it to the new addess and simply charges the forwarding fees along with the import fees. Therefore I'm of the opinion they should change their slogan to: We won't deliver, whatever the cost! By the way, I still have to receive any mail that was forwarded from the old box
