Waiting for New replacement lock for post box

about 5 months ago I paid almost R400 to have a brand new lock installed into my post office box as one of the keys had been misplaced, i want to have 2 keys so that either my wife or myself can check on post.

about 2 months ago we recieved the new keys for our post box, when we tried to open the lock it was not working, we handed in the keys and asked the post office to check why it is not working.then we collected the keys again about 3 weeks later and once again tried to open the box and found it was still not working, the keys were handed back to the post office and they were asked again to check what is wromg with the lock.

then again about 4 weeks after that (10 December 2016) we went to collect the keys for the postal box and again found it was not working, asked to speak to the manager but she was out on tea break and no one could contact her or tell me how long she would be away from the office for. I asked the counter staff to ask her to contact me, this never happened.

on monday the 12th December we again went to the post office to find out what is going on with post box lock, I was told by the stand in manager that she is not resposible for the faulty lock that doesnt work it is for me to fix it. after talking to her for about 30 min it came to light that a second hand lock had been fitted to my box with out my permission even though I had paid to HAVE A BRAND NEW LOCK FITTED, now everythime we need post we have to take off early from work so that we can be at the post office before they close so that ounter staff and retrieve our mail out of the box for us - this is unacceptable.

when asked who authorized the lock to fitted the stand in manager said it had to have been the branch manager who did that, when asked why the lock wasn't check for functionality was told it was lubricated and worked, but no one is able to open the lock using either of the keys provided. we were then told that we have to phone the reginal post master to have the issue fixed. when we asked why we have to phone the reginal post master the local post office sai because there is nothing they can do. It is now time to pay for box renewals again, the post office is quick to request money but cant sort out a simple thing like putting in a new lock into a post box.
