Unprofessional Post Office Worker
When you renew your car's license, the Traffic Department requires you to submit, among other things, proof of address. Seipati Phalatsane at the Danhof Post Office in Bloemfontein doesn't check the validity of your proof of address. When I submitted all my documents to her, she quickly, and literally, brushed through them and started preparing the printing of my registration document. When I asked her to kindly note that I have a different address on my proof of address and on the Green form, and that she should please make the necessary amendment, she agitatedly exclaimed that I should have made her aware of that when I initially gave her the documents. When I explained to her that I have filled out a form, and given her a document as proof of my address, and if she had paid attention to it, she would have noticed that it's a different address. To which she again, very angrily said, I should have told her before hand. She continued with the transaction; made no adjustment, and upon me leaving I kindly greeted her, to which she simply didn't respond. If these folks are not going to pay attention to, and scrutinise your documents, why do we have to go through all that effort of bringing along proof of address. And responding to tax-paying citizens with such unprofessionalism.
