Treat us the same. We're not dirt.

I am really saddened by how "covid-19 relief fund recipients" are being treated by the post office staff. I mean, we are not in this difficult situation by choice. Today I went to the Post Office in Benmore Gardens(Sandton) to check and collect the relief fund. There was a long and complex queue outside their office, I started by talking to the people on the queue as to what is happening and how does the queue go, some lady told me that she is also not sure because no-one from the queue has been attended since she got there. I then decided to go inside the office for clarity,some consultants were vacant not bothering to assist people from the queue, the manager came out when she saw me, no smile nothing, she asked me what do I need and after I told her that I was there for the relief fund its like she saw dirt and just pointed me to the queue, she also had no clue as to how the queue was going(because she did not care, no one directed the queue Whatsoever). I told her that I will come back, I then went to the opposite bank. A few munites later I saw the Centre(Benmore) management talking to the Post Office manager pointing at the queue, I then saw them talking to the people on the queue and the queue dissolved, everyone left without being assisted. I went in and asked "Nokuthula" if she can assist me, she then said there is no money, I said can she then please check if the money is really there, as she was about to do that their *rude* manager came and said " we are offline, we can't assist you. Come tomorrow", shouting at me and they all left me the. I know that most government employees are ***********, unprofessional and lazy, be it in the clinics, hospital, Post Office, etc .I mean why are you there? Aren't you supposed to be serving the public?? Where is the spirit of ubuntu? it is really a shame what this Country is has turned into. PLEASE do not disregard us like that, try to put yourself in other people's shoes. We are not dirt, we are human beings who are in a middle of a financial distress due to the pandemic. Ms Manager and your staff you should go for retraining.
