Software CD theft.
A US company sent me a software update on a CD. Today I went to my PO Box only to find that the envelope had been opened and the software CD ******. I went to Southdale Post Office and informed them of the theft. They inspected the envelope and agreed that it had been tampered with. They told me that the most they could do was to inform the \sorting centre"and to ask them to \""keep an eye on my post box\"". But that nothing would come of it because it would be hard to find the *****. <br> What is a customer to do? Do we have no other choice but to accept that when we deal with SAPO"

We understand the frustration this would have caused and we are happy to assist with the following information: to enable investigations to commence into this matter we require that you visit the receiving office and request to log an manual enquiry. The matter will be forwarded to the originating postal administration who will then liaise with the South African Post throughout the investigation and will also verify the weight of the package so that we can detect whether the pilfering took place from our side or theirs. I can understand this may be inconvenient, however, to align with guidelines set out by Universal Postal Union, we require all investigations for missing or delayed international articles to be lodged.
