Sassa money *****
day. I'm Jacqueline Malatse, Nthefo Merriam Phala' daughter. I have a complaint regarding my mother's sassa pension and the post office at Brits. I am the one who withdraws my moms pension at the ATM. On the 7 October 2023 I just received R660 from the ATM. It was the only money that was available at the bank. On the 9th October my mother went to Sassa at Maboloka to enquire l. They told her that the money its showing on the system she can go and collect it at the post office. She immediately went to post office at Brits. They told her that the machines are not available, they went out to other places for paying the people. So she must come back on Thursday which is today. Today she went there, fortunately she was helped by the lady who was helping her on Monday. She told her many stories which are suspicious, she told her to go to the internet Cafe on the other side of the road to ask for their contact number so that she can be able to get her money. And she also told her she must go and collect her money at shoprite at Bapong. When my mother asked why Bapong? And she don't even know that place, she responded that her money is there. Luckily I called her mother checking her, she told me the whole story. I drove there, I asked the lady to explain everything, she then panicked and changes the story. She told me about the money for September that we attempted to withdraw the money several times, so now that thing made charges. She said the account has charges of R1900 and something. So my mothers pension paid those charges.. I was surprised. I asked if pensioners has charges? She was talking many useless things. We than went to Sassa in Brits, they were surprised when I told then the stories from the post office. They told us to go back to the post office to ask for the manager,Mr/ miss Pilane. When we arrived there she checked on the system, she was also surprised that why Lihle( the lady who was helping us) told my mom to go to Shoprite ? She then checked on the system, she looked confused. She was not understanding what is happening on the system. She then told us about the charges which is surprising. And I think they are hiding something. So she told us they will investigate and my mom must come and check the following month if it's rectified or what. But I told her that it's suspicious because on Monday at sassa they told us that the money is available. We went back to sassa to give them feedback, they said that there's no such stories of charges And it's not the first time I have experience. Brits Post office they ***** pensioners they money. Even early this year my mother's sassa card gave us problems, I went to the ATM to withdraw, and the money didn't come out. We went to sassa to report and they send us to the post office. When we arrive they told my mother that the money is not available. I asked them how? And I asked for the statement they said that they dont have statements. They also refused to give my mother the new card they told him that he will get his pension from the post office every month and they insisted. And I suspected that they are hiding something. I also insisted that they give her the new card. We went to the bank and the money was there. So the reason they were refusing to give my mother the new card is that she must not know that her money is still in the bank. Those people are ******.
