SAPO - AN INTERNATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT

On 30 May I paid R857 to airmail a parcel to the Netherlands. It left the nearest hub on 3 June. FOUR WEEKS LATER it is recorded as having arrived at the JIMC customs where it is still sitting. There is no way of contacting customs because since they moved two weeks ago there is no number available. So SEVEN WEEKS after posting SAPO inform me the parcel is still in the country and they have no idea how long it will take to be delivered. For this appalling service they have the audacity to charge AIRMAIL rates. This is a form of theft - SAPO is blatantly misrepresenting its overseas postal service and charging for something they cannot provide which is timeous delivery. Try and explain this fiasco to people overseas and they simply won't believe a country can be as hopelessly *********** as this.
