SA Post Office needs new senior management
I called the customer service to track a parcel that was posted from the United States over a month ago.

I have a US tracking number and upon enquiring on the local tracking number, I was told that no such tracking number exists on their system and I should just hold on, it will eventually arrive.

I've never experienced such unreliable service as a South African. It's terrible how a critical service fell into disrepute. It is an international shame.

A clear lack of vision from senior management.

Thank you for your comment.
LJ***US, is not an international recognised tracking barcode according the United Postal Union( UPU) meaning the sender has elected an unrecorded mail option and it needs to be understood that the service does not always include a tracking option and no additional tracking information will be available once the package leaves the United States and is handed onto the international mail stream unless if its value is more than $20 then package will be subjected to custom duties and will be allocated a domestic number and only then will it become available on our system.
We have also conducted a search with your name and surname to no avail and in this instance you will need to visit your local post point to check if they have any shelved items from you as we have been informed by customs that items posted from the United States with the following prefixes LC,LN, M,LK, are being dispatched to our retail branched without being captured and hopefully the item will be available at your local post office. If it is not received, you may contact the sender and advise them to log a manual enquiry with the office of origin.
Regards,
Customer Service
