Post Office staff stole my parcel

After my mother sent my parcel through Post Office East London - Oxford Street, it arrived in Johannesburg empty, they delivered an empty parcel. it was a phone by the way, Samsung Galaxy S5. so I asked the post office I was collecting from what happens in an instance like this, where your parcel is missing or simply ****** because the box that was inside the parcel bag was ripped open. they advised me that there's nothing they can do as they have no proof of who took the parcel.

Now if Post Office as a whole does not have a strict policy towards staff *****ing customers goods, it is condoning them to ***** because they know nothing will happen. I can only wonder now how many people have lost many of their valuable goods through post office.

They told me they can only refund me the service funds which is R80 and that's after investigations that can take a million years. What about their staff? So its just going to be another day of *****ing at post office? and they never advised my mother of the insurance option, which I assume it was on purpose as they had an eye on the package.

This is unacceptable, something has to be done to recover my parcel.

Pumla Bikani.

Hello pumlab@,

Thank you for your comment.

Please note that in an event where an item was tampered with, you will need to log a manual enquiry with the receiving post point.
You are then advised to visit your local post point to complete an enquiry form (CN08 form) which should be accompanied by a copy of your proof of postage as per the Universal Postal Union Regulator for an urgent investigation to be conducted.
The matter will be referred to Security and Investigation and final investigation report will be communicated with the branch manager for an update you once the matter has been resolved.

Please allow me to express my sincere regrets for the frustration you must surely have experienced through this unfortunate ordeal.

Warm regards,
Customer Service
