Post Office - Money not paid in Full

My mother was employed at Cape Mail, Post Office (Cape Town, Goodwood), for about 26 years. She was medically boarded due to an ill health; suffered from a stroke September 2019. And was officially medically boarded last year, October (2021), since she was not 100% recovering/recovered.

It was said in the meetings that took place, in Goodwood Post Office that she’d get a cash lump sum of a certain amount, after months of trying to reach out to the them, since she had hospital debts and, and .. we reached out to find out what the delay was. Eventually, the money was paid out in February 2022 - we realised at a later stage that the money was not paid in full. It was not the stipulated amount, that was communicated and was written down on paper/records. Mom still needs to pay her bills, especially from the hospital (since she was usually in & out, for check ups etc.). We need the medical refund that they have been promising to pay her, she still needs to go for physiotherapy, speech therapy, see the doctor and all. She cannot do that, because her money is/was short when it was paid out.

Cape Mail Post Office reached out to me towards the end of June, 2022, asking for my mother’s updated banking details. I then went to the FNB branch with her, and got it - and sent it to the company via email. It’s almost 3 months now, and we aren’t getting any valid reason as to why there is a delay and why her money is/was short in the first place.

It’s almost 3 months, since we have been waiting for the medical refund to happen. They just keep on saying it’s ‘still on hold’, as to why - we do not know. We are really, also feeling the financial strain at home .. it’s quite stressful and frustrating. Taking into consideration that she was such a diligent employee; for so many year - and yet, this is what she is now subjected to.

Even when my mom was ill - she still wanted to serve the Post Office. But it was unfortunate that she couldn’t 100% deliver, due to her health, and was then medically boarded by her doctor.

We’re about the enter a new month, we need to seek traditional and western help for my mom to fully recover - all of that, needs money; money that the Post Office has kept to themselves.

Please, kindly assist my family; assist my mom. Please, we’d truly appreciate that.
